MONTGOMERY, Mary E. Greathouse 82, of Middletown, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement
Village. She was born in Middletown on November 4, 1933 to parents C. Richard and Mildred (Faries) Greathouse.
Mary had worked for, and eventually co-owned, her families clothing store, C.E. Greathouse & Son, until her
retirement in 1982. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her
son, Jeffrey (Sheila) Hawley; daughter, Beth Hawley; two grandchildren, Travis & Savannah Hawley; cousin, Judy Ready;
nephews, Dick Greathouse III, Doug Greathouse & Dan Greathouse; and dear friends, Nancy Strait & Elma Flint.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Montgomery; grandmother, Kate Vail; parents; and brother,
C. Richard Greathouse Jr.
